“I believe that if we can get prospective members to help us with a project … the rest will take care of itself. They will realize that they made a difference in someone’s life.”
– Rotary International President Ron Burton in the June 2014 issue of The Rotarian
As we approach the last month of this Rotary year, I wanted to share with you my plans to publish a special newsletter edition that will sum up our club's highlights and accomplishments for 2019-2020.
As the end of my term nears, I reflect back on the amazing work GSR has done. This past year we lived up to both our club theme, "Unity Through Service" and the Rotary International theme, "Rotary Connects the World."
I'm going to miss leading our club and I know you will be in good hands with our incoming President Tri Fritz and future club leaders.
Your dedication and ability to rise up to the occasion when challenges presented was a daily inspiration to me. Because of you're enthusiasm and commitment to this club's mission my FUN meter was to the MAX while we accomplished great things in the face a global pandemic.
Now Rotarians are called to action to STAND in solidarity against racism, hatred, and prejudice. Our black communities need us. We joined Rotary to do good in the world and in our communities. Rotary values diversity and celebrates the contributions of people of all backgrounds, regardless of their age, ethnicity, race, color, abilities, religion, socioeconomic, status, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity. Unity is our calling, and we are UNITED not only by our call to service but by the human experience that we all share.
Join me and many others including many community leaders at the Vigil this Sunday June 7, 2020 at 4:30pm - 5:30pm at the Glendale City Hall.
