- Zainul was the Rotary's 3H Scholar from Bangladesh and attended Washington State University for a doctoral degree as the Rotary 3H Freedom from Hunger Scholar in 1986/90.
- Zainul Joined Glendale Sunrise Rotary in 1996 and served as the Club Secretary, International, Youth, Vocational Chairs, Foundation, Coats for Kids, Banners on Brand and GSR Presdient
- Zainul led the District GSE Team to Korea in 2002
- He served District Vocational Chair twice and Assistant Governor thrice.
- Zainul is a Rotary Major Donor and a sustaining Paul Harris Fellow.
- Zainul served District Alumni Committee with PDG John Alexander 2007-2009 and District long Range Planning 2009-2010.

The Bush Administration appointed Zainul Regulatory Fairness Board of the US Small Business Administration in 2006-2009. As an advisor and as the Chairman between 2007-8, Region IX.
