Rotary Means Business (RMB) encourages Rotarians to support the success of their fellow Rotarians by doing business with them, and by referring others to them. We share a common belief that we should honor the roots of our great worldwide organization and support one another in business guided by the core principles of Rotary. RMB provides a structure to bring business relationships back into Rotary in a way that supplements rather than competes with the service and fellowship aspects of our clubs. When we are able to provide opportunities to strengthen the businesses represented in Rotary, our members will be stronger, thus creating stronger clubs. In addition, we encourage Rotarians to bring guest to these meetings, which WILL increase the membership of your individual clubs.
RMB provides a structure to bring business relationships back into Rotary in a way that supplements rather than competes with the service and fellowship aspects of Rotary.
When we are able to provide opportunities to strengthen the businesses represented at Rotary, our members will be stronger creating stronger clubs. Stronger clubs automatically mean Rotary itself is stronger, The Rotary Foundation is stronger, and therefore we are able to do more to make our communities stronger.

Money and Philanthropy
Dec 06, 2019
Rennie will discuss five main points in his powerful presentatin:
1. We need to have a purpose bigger than the dollar to create wealth
2. We have been programmed to believe the poor are noble and the wealthy are heartless
3. It is never too late to start on the road to wealth
4. The wealthiest people are the biggest philanthropists
5. You must take care of yourself before you can take care of others
Rennie went from broke at age 50 to multi-millionaire in a few years while only earning $5,000 per month. He now lives on his investment income and donates 100% of his book, training and coaching profits to www.ShelterToSoldier.org where dogs are rescued from deadly environments and trained as service animals for post 9/11 soldiers who have returned with Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI).

Census 2020: Count everybody once, only once, and in the right place!
Dec 20, 2019
It is critical that we get an accurate count of every person residing in the City of Glendale. This number will determine our fair share of the yearly federal budget of $675 billion each year, over the next ten years. This is money that will go to fund so many of our public and social services including: MediCal, Medicare, after school programs, free school lunches, road repairs, libraries, senior centers, homeless programs and more; and we only have one chance every ten years to get it right.
Secondly, the Census will determine how many Congressional House seats we maintain, lose or gain. In essence, the higher the population count, the more and government representation we all can receive. Glendale, in particular, had communities that were heavily undercounted in the 2010 Census, and it is absolutely imperative that we get the word out to our local communities to make sure everyone is counted in 2020. This means U.S. citizens, non-citizens, immigrants, international students, young children and the homeless alike need to be included.
Speaker:
Daniel Lee is the Partnership Specialist for the US Census Bureau, LA County. He was born in Anaheim and raised in Riverside County. He moved to Seoul, South Korea after high school where he studied on international issues such as North Korea for the next 15 years. He returned to the U.S. and worked in Congress in Washington DC and for local elected officials before moving back to Los Angeles where he now works to promote the 2020 Census. He hopes to one day help improve bi-lateral relations between North and South Korea and reunify the two countries. Daniel has a wide range of experience from academics, broadcasting, voice acting and government. |
