Join Us for the Field of Honor Memorial Day Event

Join us from May 21 to May 26, 2025, for an unforgettable tribute that will fill your heart with pride and gratitude. At the entrance of Forest Lawn Glendale, 1,000 U.S. flags will stand tall atop 8-foot poles, perfectly aligned to create a breathtaking display of patriotism and remembrance. This awe-inspiring scene celebrates the enduring spirit of our nation and the extraordinary men and women who have shaped it.

The Field of Honor is more than a striking visual tribute; it’s a heartfelt opportunity to honor those who inspire us most — veterans, active military members, first responders, community leaders, or even a personal hero who holds a special place in your life. By sponsoring a flag, you create a lasting tribute to their courage and impact. Even more, all sponsorship proceeds directly support local community programs, including the vital Veterans Housing initiative, ensuring your contribution makes a difference close to home.

Thanks to Glendale Sunrise Rotary and the thoughtful collaboration with Forest Lawn Glendale, this incredible event is open to the entire community, and admission is completely free. If you decide to sponsor a flag, you’ll have the option to take it home as a cherished keepsake of both gratitude and honor.

Walking the rows of red, white, and blue is a stirring and deeply reflective experience. It is a moment to connect, remember, and celebrate the selflessness and sacrifice of those who have nobly served and continue to serve. This year’s Field of Honor invites you to pause and reflect on the values that make our nation strong, while celebrating the lives of those who embody the spirit of service above self.

What began eight years ago as a vision by Glendale Sunrise Rotary Past President Tom Probst, a retired Glendale Fire Battalion Chief, has grown into a proud community tradition. The Field of Honor has become more than an event — it is a lasting legacy that unites people of all generations in gratitude, pride, and hope for a brighter future.

This Memorial Day, we encourage you to be part of something extraordinary. Sponsor a flag to celebrate someone meaningful to you, attend the special May 26 program, or simply immerse yourself in the serenity and beauty of 1,000 flags standing tall for heroes past and present. Each flag tells a powerful story, and each sponsorship helps Glendale Sunrise Rotary continue its work of supporting veterans and impactful community initiatives.

A special thank you to Forest Lawn Glendale for standing alongside us in this mission and helping make this cherished event possible. Your participation and kindness ensure that the memory and contributions of our heroes live on. Glendale, we are deeply grateful for your unwavering support.

Together, we can honor extraordinary lives and create a brighter future for our community. Mark your calendars, join us at this remarkable celebration, and help us honor those who inspire us all. See you at the Field of Honor this May!
