Sara Reyes is the Executive Director of SELAH Neighborhood Homeless Coalition, a volunteer-powered community-based organization meeting the needs of our most vulnerable neighbors in Los Angeles with dignity. Sara began volunteering with SELAH in 2020 and helped shape the early years of the organization through her work as both an outreach volunteer and an organizing committee co-chair. Sara moved from volunteer into the role of first-ever Executive Director for SELAH in October 2023.
Sara's commitment to elevating marginalized voices and to the creation of inclusive and compassionate systems of care comes from her 13 years in decolonized international development at The Hunger Project. Through her work, Sara had the opportunity to advance sustainable, community-led solutions to malnourishment and inequity across 23 countries, at the United Nations, and at the World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates.
She now lives in Los Angeles with her husband, sister, two cats, and moped.
